OPP Charge Two People With Stunt Driving On Highway 7 Within Two Hours

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP officers conducting radar patrol on a stretch of Highway 7 within Otonabee-South Monaghan Township on April 20, 2023 charged two people with stunt driving.

Shortly after 7:45pm, officers clocked a vehicle travelling 137 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 7.

The 19-year-old male driver of Whitby, Ontario was charged with:

  • Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed.

A couple of hours later the same officers clocked another vehicle in the same area travelling 148 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The 31-year-old male driver of Brampton, Ontario was charged with:

  • Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed.

Both accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.

Both accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on June 12, 2023. No names were released.
