KAWARTHA LAKES-A 22-year-old Lindsay man is facing charges following a stabbing overnight.
At 2:30 am this morning Kawartha Lakes Police responded to the area of York Street South and Russell Street West for a reported stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a physical altercation had occurred between two males. During the altercation, a third male approached and allegedly stabbed one of two males in the back before fleeing the area. Officers searched the area and located and arrested the suspect a short distance away.
During a search, officers report recovering a knife.
The victim was transported to the Ross Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
A 22-year-old Lindsay man is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault cause bodily harm
The male has been held in custody for a bail hearing. KLPS no longer release the names of most people charged with a crime.
