Lightning Strike Sparks Barn Fire Near Cambray

KAWARTHA LAKES-A barn on Blackbird Road near Cambray caught fire after being hit by lightning this morning just before 7am.

There were no animals in the barn at the time and the owner managed to get some equipment out before fire crews arrived. Firefighters from Cameron were on the scene quickly to knock down the flames. Crews from Mariposa and Woodville assisted.

Damage is pegged at $10,000. Chief Terry Jones told Kawartha 411 that they were dealing with 3-4 calls regarding lightning strikes at the time as a storm rolled through the City. See video below.
