A Three-Year-Old Girl Has Died After Being Hit By A Vehicle In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-A three-year-old girl has died after being struck by a vehicle in the driveway of a home on Woodglade Boulevard in Peterborough.

Officers were called to a motor vehicle collision at approximately 9:00am this morning.

Police say the vehicle came off the road and struck a 3-year-old girl in the driveway of the residence. The child was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and has since succumbed to those injuries.  No one else was injured in the collision.

“It is an absolutely tragic situation,” said Staff Sergeant Dan MacLean.

The Peterborough Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating. MacLean says investigators will be looking at the weather, road conditions, the mechanical components of the vehicle and more as they try to piece together what happened. The area will be closed as the investigation continues.
