New Partnership Aims To Help LAUNCH And Foster New Businesses In Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-Launch Kawartha is a new innovation and entrepreneurship centre located in a 4600 square foot facility in the heart of downtown Lindsay.  Launch Kawartha provides free services and fully furnished incubation workspaces for up to twenty (20) new entrepreneurs in the Innovation Hub.  Anchored by Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation (KLCFDC)and Kawartha Lakes Business Community Development Corporation (KLBCDC), participants can access multiple in-house partners through this centralized hub for innovative programming, expertise, guidance, mentorship, and professional services. This includes direct access to government funding, finance, marketing and digital media, accounting and virtual CFO services, legal, IP, cybersecurity services and the latest in mental health and wellness services on demand and in real-time according to management. 

Officials say Launch Kawartha will also host informational events through a series of fireside chats, virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, and seminars, including a series of events called the “Ask an Expert” sessions.

Participants will have access to:

  • Innovation Hub partners will house permanent and hot desk/satellite office space, providing services to support business owners and entrepreneurs in our region – listed below
  • Incubator clients have access to private, flexible meeting spaces and modern fully furnished boardroom, integrated communication options and smart monitors, wireless internet (fibre connection), modern kitchen facilities and unlimited access to next gen office equipment all free of charge.
  • Common area/event space featuring fireplace and multi-function furniture options

Over the past 35 years KLCFDC has provided $50MM + in investment into the local economy, issued over 900 loans, created over 9,000 jobs and serviced over 16,000 inquiries for funding, business counselling, advisory and community economic development projects.

The public is invited to attend an open house/grand opening on February 10 from 3-6 pm at 165 Kent Street West, Suite 302 Lindsay. (In the Scotiabank Building)
