KAWARTHA LAKES-Two people are facing impaired driving charges after being stopped by police on Saturday.
Just after 2:00 AM, a Kawartha Lakes Police constable stopped a vehicle travelling on Victoria Avenue South in Lindsay, in order to investigate a traffic violation. Police say while speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment. During the investigation, the driver allegedly refused to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device.
18-year-old Kyler Robinson of Strathroy has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, failure or refusal to comply with demand and one charge each in contravention of the Liquor Licence Control Act and Highway Traffic Act.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 2, 2023.
At 10:42PM, Kawartha Lakes Police were contacted by a Highway 35 South business that reported a driver in the drive-thru who appeared to be under the influence. Officers attended the location and located the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment and placed her under arrest according to police.
39-year-old Trena Parsons of Fenelon Falls has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on March 2, 2023.
