Driver Escapes After Vehicle Plunges Into The Water

KAWARTHA LAKES-A driver is lucky to be alive after a vehicle left the road and plunged into the water on Friday.

The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP says it happened on Kirkfield Road by Centennial Park Road. The driver was able to get out on top of their vehicle while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

“We would like to remind motorists to be mindful of road conditions and their surroundings after this driver had a close call Friday evening.” said the OPP.

It’s believed the crash was weather/road condition related and not driving according to those conditions which caused the collision according to the OPP.

No charges have been laid.
