Peterborough Man Charged After Spouse Chased And Dragged By The Hair

PETERBOROUGH-A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Wednesday evening.

At approximately 7:15pm on December 14, 2022, officers received a number of 9-1-1 calls involving two people in the Sherbrooke Street and Aylmer Street area. Upon arrival, officers say they learned a woman had been confined and when she escaped, chased and dragged down the road by her hair before being able to get away.

Officers were able to locate a man matching the description given to police and take him into custody according to police.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault – Spousal
  • Uttering Threats – Damage Property
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held in custody and will appear in court today, December 15, 2022.
