Snowfall Warning Issued For Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for our area.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected Thursday with peak snowfall rates of 1 to 3 cm per hour. The greatest snowfall amounts are expected over the higher terrain north of Lake Ontario on Thursday afternoon through Thursday night.

Snow will develop by early Thursday afternoon. Snow will taper to flurries or drizzle Thursday night.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.

Special weather statement is also in effect for:

  • Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
  • Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes

Significant snowfall expected Thursday afternoon into Friday with accumulations of 10 to 15 cm by Friday night.
