Fundraiser Set Up To Help Family Who “Lost Everything” In House Fire On Washburn Island Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-A fundraising campaign has been set up to help a family who lost everything in a house fire on December 8.

A massive fire broke out at the Taylor home at approximately 11:30 am. When crews arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames. Five trucks were called to battle the blaze.

No one was home at the time of the fire but tragically, all of their pets did not make it out.

According to the Go Fund Me, nothing inside the home is salvageable.

“My mother-in-law had a wonderful at-home business that bought so much joy to her and it was sadly lost as well.” said organizer Sherry Hummel “I know nothing will ever bring back all of the things that were lost but I hope this can help them get back on their feet during this time. Thank you all for your support and understanding.”
