Three People Charged With Failing To Stop For A School Bus In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough Police says three people have been charged recently with failing to stop for a school bus.

Each of the incidents happened in November and were reported to Peterborough Police.  The Peterborough Police Traffic Unit investigated and as a result three people were charged either as the driver of the vehicle or as the registered owner.

Failing to stop for a school when the lights and safety arm are activated on a roadway could result in the following fines:

  • Registered owner of vehicle = $490 and no points
  • Driver of vehicle = $490 with 6 points

Peterborough Police remind motorists that when you are approaching a school bus while the lights and safety arm are activated you must stop.

No names were released.
