Police Identify Fourth Person Killed In Crash On Highway 7

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP has released the name of the fourth person killed in a crash on Highway 7 on Tuesday.

A head-on collision involving a pick-up truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) occurred at approximately 5:15pm. Four victims have been pronounced deceased. One victim was transported to a Toronto area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The deceased driver of the pick-up truck has been identified as 42-year-old Jason Schmidt of Hastings.

Three deceased occupants including the driver of the SUV have been identified as 18-year-old Riddick Hart, J46-year-old Jonathan MacDonnell and 52-year-old Stephanie Hart of Otonabee-South Monaghan Township.

This collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed or has video/dash camera footage of the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

The Peterborough County OPP Detachment is thanking the members of the public who assisted first responders at the scene of this tragic collision.
