Lindsay Woman Charged With Impaired Driving In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-A 20-year-old Lindsay woman is one of two people charged with impaired driving by Peterborough Police over the weekend.

At approximately 4:15am on November 20, 2022, officers received a call from a concerned resident about a possible impaired driver after they spotted a vehicle in a ditch in the Sherbrooke Street and Brealey Drive area.  Police say upon arrival to the area, officers noticed obvious signs of impairment with the driver.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Lindsay woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration over 80mg

A 41-year-old Peterborough woman is facing impaired charges after an incident Friday evening.

At approximately 5:15pm on November 18, 2022, police say they received several calls about a possible impaired driver in the area of Monaghan Road and Lansdowne Street and that there were children in the vehicle. Upon arrival to the area, officers located the vehicle in a parking lot and noticed obvious signs of impairment with the driver according to police.  The children, aged 6 and 4, were not injured.

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs

Both of the accused were issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.

In each case, Peterborough Police say they would like to thank the public for calling 9-1-1.

Peterborough Police no longer release the names of people charged with crimes.
