Youth Charged With Arson In Fire In Haliburton

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Highlands OPP has charged a youth with arson as a result of a fire that occurred in Haliburton earlier this week.

On November 13, 2022, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Haliburton Highlands OPP and Dysart  Fire Department responded to a reported fire at a washroom building at Head Lake Park in Haliburton. With the assistance of the public a suspect was quickly identified and arrested a short time later according to police.

A 15-year-old young person, whose identity is protected under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. has been charged with 2 counts of Arson-damage to property.
