Fundraising Campaign Set Up For Local Teacher Who Died In Crash On Pigeon Lake Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Go Fund Me campaign has been set up for a beloved teacher who died on Monday after a car crash on Pigeon Lake Road.

51-year-old Lucia Colacci died after a single-vehicle rollover around 8:30 am Monday morning near Downeyville. She was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Colacci was a teacher at St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School in Lindsay.

“Words cannot adequately express our profound shock and deep sorrow. As a Catholic community rooted in faith, we continue to pray for Lucia’s family and all those affected most directly by this heartbreaking news,” said Michael DeMaeyer, Principal in a statement sent home to families.

She is survived by her husband Jeff Kitney and three children Mateo(15), Marco(12) and Natalia(7).

“The sudden impact of this horrible tragedy has surprised Jeff with a lot of expenses. This Go Fund Me is to help ease the financial burden, and to take the pressure off Jeff and his family at this challenging time. Please send all your thoughts, prayers and support to the family in this time of grieving.”  said the Go Fund Me.
