Taser Seized After Dispute At Peterborough Area Motel

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP says officers responded to a dispute at approximately 4:30pm yesterday afternoon. The complainant reported that they were threatened with a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) during an argument with other tenants residing at a motel located on Highway 7. Police say the CEW was located and seized by officers. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

38-year-old Eric McInnis of Otonabee-South Monaghan Township, was arrested and charged with:

• Uttering threats-cause death or bodily harm

• Assault with a weapon

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

58-year0old Elaine Ste Marie of Otonabee-South-Monaghan Township, was arrested and charged with:

• Uttering threats-cause death or bodily harm

Both of the accused have a court appearance in December.
