Six People Charged, Opioids, Ammunition, Stolen Property And Cash Seized In Lengthy Police Investigation

KAWARTHA LAKES-On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at approximately 6:00 a.m., as a result of an investigation that focused on drug trafficking in Trent Hills, led by the Peterborough/Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), in conjunction with the Biker Enforcement Unit (BEU), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), East Region CSCU, Orillia CSCU, City of Kawartha Lakes CSCU, Nottawasaga CSCU, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) the Canine Unit (K9), and the Peterborough City Police Service, six simultaneous search warrants were executed at residential addresses in the Municipality of Trent Hills and in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood.

As a result of the warrants, investigators seized over $40,000 in cash, a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, hydromorphone, Percocet pills, two motor vehicles, two motorcycles, and ammunition.

As a result of the investigation police charged the following individuals:

37-year-old Stephen Dunkley of Trent Hills

  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Cobourg on December 14, 2022.

61-year-old Gordon Graham of Trent Hills

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (x3)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Cobourg on November 2, 2022.

46-year-old Trevor Jones of Trent Hills

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – outside Canada
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Cobourg on December 14, 2022.

34-year-old Kyle Langford of Trent Hills

  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of Prohibited device or ammunition for Dangerous Purpose

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Cobourg on December 14, 2022.

48-year-old Ronald Untalan of Trent Hills

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused attended a bail hearing on today’s date and was remanded to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 30, 2022.

31-year-old Cody Whitley of Trent Hills

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Cobourg on December 14, 2022.

The investigation remains ongoing. Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to call their nearest OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
