Shotgun, Ammunition And Illicit Drugs Seized In Investigation In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-Two people are facing a long list of charges after a drug investigation in Peterborough.

Members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the OPP executed a CDSA search warrant at a residence in the City of Peterborough on October 6. Officers seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, a shotgun, ammunition, scales, cell phones and Canadian currency according to the OPP.

As a result of this investigation, two people have been charged.

36-year-old Kameron James of Peterborough has been charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine-two counts

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid

• Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

• Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Possession of property of proceeds obtained by crime-under $5000

• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 23, 2022.

33-year-old Amber Wicklund of Peterborough has been charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine-two counts

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid

• Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Possession of property of proceeds obtained by crime-under $5000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on November 24, 2022.

Meanwhile,  Peterborough County OPP officers attended a serious motor vehicle collision at approximately 12:05am on October 7, 2022 on the 4th Line of Asphodel. James and the vehicle’s passenger are facing charges in relation to this incident.

Kameron JAMES has been charged with:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

• Possession of weapon or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

• Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

• Dangerous operation

• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

• Failure to comply with undertaking

The accused was arrested on October 27, 2022 and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough later today.

41-year-old Dustin Wicklund of Peterborough, has been charged with:

• Unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm

• Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

• Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose

• Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition

• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

• Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was arrested on October 27, 2022 and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on December 1, 2022.
