Lindsay Resident Wins $100,000 On Encore

KAWARTHA LAKES-Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Dale Aucoin of Lindsay. He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the September 30, 2022 LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000!

The 47-year-old skilled trade worker says he plays the lottery occasionally. “I play LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49 and I always say yes to ENCORE,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I stopped at the store to run a quick errand and ended up purchasing this ticket.”

Dale says he was sitting outside with his wife when he checked his ticket using the OLG App. “I heard the winning jingle and saw the amount – I had to do a double take and count the zeroes!”

Dale said when he told his wife she didn’t believe him at first. “I scanned it in front of her. My hands were shaking. We were both in disbelief,” he said. “Then we went to the store to make sure it was real.”

“This feels awesome,” he smiled. “At first it’s hard to believe, but each day it sets in a bit more.”

He plans to put his win toward his mortgage and may consider a fun family trip to celebrate.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada Gas and Convenience on Highway 35 North in Lindsay.
