City Of Kawartha Lakes Man Facing Theft And Mischief Charges In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-A 37-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man is facing charges after an incident early Thursday morning.

At approximately 3:00 am on October 20, 2022, officers were called to the area of McDonnel Street and Stewart Street by residents concerned about suspicious activity.  Upon arrival, officers noticed two men taking items from a vehicle and that a window on the vehicle had been smashed.  One man was taken into custody while the second man fled on foot.  K9 Gryphon was called in to complete a track, but the second suspect was not located.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000
  • Mischief Under $5,000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 8, 2022.
