35-Year-Old Peterborough Man Identified As Victim In Fatal Crash On Highway 115

PETERBOROUGH-A 35-year-old Peterborough man has been identified as the victim of a horrific crash on September 2 on Highway 115.

Peterborough County OPP closed Highway 115 near Airport Road due to a motor vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Police say a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) was stopped in the northbound lanes due to traffic when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The pickup truck was then rear-ended by a second CMV. The lone occupant of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Nathan Wagstaff of Peterborough.

The northbound lanes of Highway 115 were closed between Airport Road and County Road 28 for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 705-742-0401 or 1-888-310-1122.
