Peterborough County OPP Investigating Two Fatal Crashes Saturday Night

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP is investigating two fatal crashes on Saturday night.

Officers and emergency crews responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on County Road 507 just north of County Road 36 which occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Police say a vehicle was travelling southbound when it left the roadway and entered the ditch. The lone occupant was pronounced deceased at scene.

County Road 507 was closed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene but has since reopened.

Crews also responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on the 10th Line that occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. Saturday evening.

A vehicle with two occupants was located in the ditch according to police. The driver was pronounced deceased at scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of both collisions remains under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage and has not yet spoken with police is asked to contact the Peterborough County OPP Detachment at 705-742-0401 or 1-888-310-1122.
