Crews Battle Wheat Field Fire In Bethany

KAWARTHA LAKES-A number of acres burned after a wheat field caught fire on Lifford Road in Bethany on Saturday.

District Chief Dave Kish told Kawartha 411 news a few acres were involved. Three stations were called in to provide water support. According to Kish, the farmer had just finished cutting the field.

No one was injured. It is unclear what caused the fire but conditions were very dry at the time.
