SIU Investigating Serious Injury During Protest At Peterborough Police Station

PETERBOROUGH-The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU)is investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged serious injury of a 55-old man in Peterborough on Saturday.

On the afternoon of August 13, 2022, protesters gathered outside the Peterborough Police Service station and counter-protesters converged.
At about 4 p.m. on August 13th Peterborough Police Service officers arrested the man following an interaction with police. The SIU says the man was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a serious injury and admitted to hospital.
Two investigators have been assigned to the case.
