OPP Asking For Public’s Assistance In Identifying Suspect

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Peterborough County OPP isĀ asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a theft suspect.

Officers responded to a theft complaint at a fast-food restaurant on Highway 7 in Norwood on August 11 at approximately 6:00am. The complainant reported that the suspect entered the restaurant at 2:20am and stole a large sum of money by cutting into a locked safe. A male suspect was captured on video surveillance.

A theft involving the same suspect occurred at a fast-food restaurant on Matthew Street in Marmora on August 11, 2022 at 1:23am according to police.

Investigators are actively looking for information that may lead to the identification of the suspect. Police urge the public to call in tips on this case, or others, to the Peterborough OPP at 705-742-0401, the non-emergency line (888) 310-1122 or to Crime Stoppers.
