Police Looking For Two Suspects After $20,000 Of Clothing Stolen In Smash And Grab Downtown Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 20-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges and police are looking for two suspects after a break and enter to a business in Peterborough Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the store in the George Street North and Hunter Street area at approximately 6am. Upon arrival, officers learned the front door had been smashed with a rock and that about $20,000 worth of clothing and items had allegedly been taken.  Officers searching the area located a male in a back alley carrying a large pile of clothing belonging to the store according to police and he was taken into custody.

As a result, a 20-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 18, 2022.

Police are looking for two other suspects described as:

Suspect #1:

  • Male
  • Wearing a light-coloured hoodie
  • Mask
  • Small blue drawstring bag

Suspect #2

  • Male
  • Wearing all-black clothing
  • Red hat
  • Backpack
