City Partners With Twisted Trauma Foundation To Raise Funds For Mental Health Supports

KAWARTHA LAKES-Cycle your way to better physical health while raising funds for mental health.

The Kawartha Lakes Parks and Recreation Division has partnered with local mental health advocacy foundation, Twisted Trauma for a Cycle Fit class on June 26th to raise funds for mental health support initiatives.

The Twisted Trauma Foundation promotes recovery and educates the public by holding educational/motivational speaking events that share the stories of real life trauma survivors. The Foundation aims to break the stigma attached to individuals suffering with mental health illnesses or injuries, all while raising money for mental health programs and initiatives throughout the community according to the City.

Pre-registration is required for this event and must be completed prior to Wednesday June 22 through the Kawartha Lakes Online Program Registration website. There will be four separate class time slots which will take place at 8am, 9am, 10am and 11am with limited spaces available in each. All classes will take place in the Fitness Studio at the Lindsay Recreation Complex.

This event is open to participants 16 years of age or older. A Membership is not required to participate in these events. A minimum cash donation of $20 is due prior to participation. Registered participants can drop off their payment off at the Lindsay Recreation Complex Front Desk between the hours of 8am and 8pm beginning Monday June 20 through until Wednesday June 22.

Please note, Twisted Trauma is currently working towards charity status, but at this time is unable to provide a charitable tax donation receipt.
