KAWARTHA LAKES-Peterborough Police are investigating after several reports of a man with a knife Friday evening.
Just before 7:30pm on June 3, 2022, officers received a report of a man in the King Street and George Street area yelling at another male and mentioning a knife.
Police say at approximately 7:30pm on June 3, 2022, officers were called to the area of Stewart Street and Sherbrooke Street. Upon arrival officers learned that a man had heard someone yelling outside of his home and when he went to investigate a male became aggressive and lunged at him with a knife according to police.
At approximately 8:00pm on June 3, 2022, officers received a call about a male matching the description of the previous call in the Bethune and King Street area. The complainant reported that around 7:30pm he had been walking in the area when a man yelled at him and pulled out a knife, making threatening gestures.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
In each case, the suspect was described to police as:
- Early to mid 20s
- 6’3 tall
- Thin but athletic build
- Red shirt
- Grey jean shorts
- Baseball hat
