Kawartha Lakes Man Facing Impaired Driving Charge After Crash In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-A 29-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man is facing an impaired charge after an incident early Sunday morning.

At approximately 2:00am on May 29, 2022, officers were called to a single-vehicle collision on Nassau Mills Road.  Upon arrival, officers say they learned that the car had swerved off the road and into a ditch and that the driver had left the area.  Officers were able to locate the driver a short distance away and noticed signs of impairment according to police.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old City of Kawartha Lakes man was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). Peterborough Police no longer release the names of people charged with crimes.

The accused received an automatic 90-day license suspension and seven-day vehicle impound.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 21, 2022.
