Three Additional People Charged In Omemee Murder Of Alex Tobin

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three more people as part of the investigation into the 2020 murder of Alexander Tobin.

Tobin was shot and killed in February of 2020 at an apartment on King Street East in downtown Omemee. Last month, police issued suspect descriptions, video and photos as part of the ongoing investigation of the 18-year-old Omemee resident’s death.

Following information provided to the investigation team, police have charged 21-year-old Dawson Tullock of Oshawa, Ontario with Accessory After the Fact (Murder) contrary to Section 240 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on June 23, 2022.

Police have also charged 76-year-old Oswald Brown and 31-year-old Jordan Brown, both of Ajax, Ontario with two counts each of Party to the Offence of Fail to Comply with Release Conditions contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code. Both accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in court on June 23, 2022.

On May 13 police announced 26-year-old Jeremy Brown of Ajax, Ontario was charged with Second Degree Murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada; and Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (two counts) in the murder.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation. A $50,000 reward remains in place for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Alex TOBIN’s murder.
