KAWARTHA LAKES-The Ontario Fire Marshal’s (OFM)Office has been called in to investigate a fatal fire on Pigeon Creek Road in Janetville.
The call came in at approximately 11:15 am. Crews from Ops, Pontypool, Bethany and Omemee responded to the blaze according to the fire department.
District Fire Chief Dave Kish says there were two people home at the time but only one got out. One person is deceased.
The home is not salvageable according to Kish.
The cause is under investigation. The OPP is holding the scene until the OFM arrives.
