One Dead, Three People Sent To Hospital In Six Vehicle Crash In Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough Police continue to investigate the cause of a collision involving six vehicles Monday afternoon.

The collision happened just before 2:00 pm on May 9, 2022 on Lansdowne Street and River Road South when a westbound vehicle collided with oncoming traffic at the intersection.  Police say a 65-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were sent to hospital, one with serious injuries and two others with minor injuries.

The road was closed for almost 8 hours while the Peterborough Police Traffic Reconstruction team investigated.
