Peterborough County OPP Looking For Assistance In Identifying Suspect Who Fled From Police

PETERBOROUGH-Peterborough County OPP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a driver that failed to stop for officers yesterday afternoon.

Police say officers attempted to stop a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck for a Highway Traffic Act offence at approximately 2:30pm on Highway 7 but the vehicle fled. The truck had a lone male occupant, did not have licence plates attached and the box was loaded with pieces of white eavestrough according to police. The truck was located as it was exiting a scrapyard located on Erskine Avenue in the city of Peterborough. The truck fled after attempting to ram a police cruiser and was last observed travelling southbound on County Road 28. Police say the vehicle was not pursued due to concerns for public safety.

Investigators are actively looking for information that may lead to the identification of the suspect. Police urge the public to call in tips on this case, or others, to the Peterborough County OPP at 705-742-0401, the non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122 or to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

If you have information about suspected unlawful activity, please visit Crime Stoppers at: stopcrimehere.ca or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
