PETERBOROUGH-Police say a 31-year-old man from Mississauga has died following a shooting on Park Street in Peterborough on Wednesday. A 29-year-old man for Mississauga is in serious condition as well.
Police provided an update on the investigation today. Police are searching for four suspects believed to be between 20 and 30 years of age in connection with the shooting. Police believe the victims and suspects are known to each other.
At approximately 1:00pm on April 20, 2022, police received a 9-1-1 call from a residence on Park Street South between Princess and Romaine. Witnesses in the area reported hearing gunshots.
A number of police including the ERT responded to the area. Police taped off a driveway between two houses on Park Street, one of which was used as a clubhouse for the Loners biker gang in the past.
Police say they believe the shooting is drug related and they don’t think there is a risk to the general public.
“Public safety is the number one concern of Peterborough Police however, it’s believed that the victims and the persons responsible are associated with each other and there is no concern for public safety at this time.” said Josh McGrath, Major Crimes Unit.
