KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Rain Warning for parts of Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough. Significant rainfall and strong winds are also possible.
Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Apsley – Woodview – Northern Peterborough County
- Fenelon Falls – Balsam Lake Park – Northern Kawartha Lakes
Freezing rain is expected which could result in ice accretion of 1 to 3 mm now through this evening.
Temperatures are expected to be near the freezing mark, so there remains uncertainty regarding the amount of freezing rain that could occur. The freezing rain could linger into this evening before changing over to rain tonight as temperatures warm.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Utility outages may occur.

- Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
- Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County
Significant rainfall and strong winds possible late this afternoon and evening. Â Rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm may lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas.
Strong easterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h could lead to loose objects being tossed about, small tree branches breaking and local power outages.
