Charges Laid After Peterborough Paramedic Allegedly Struck While Assessing A Patient

PETERBOROUGH-A 24-year-old Courtice woman is facing charges after an incident in Peterborough early Saturday morning.

Police say at approximately 1:30am on Saturday, March 19, 2022, officers were called to the area of George Street North and Townsend Street.  Upon arrival officers located a woman who was passed out, the woman woke up and started being assessed by EMS when she struck a paramedic according to police.

As a result, the woman was arrested and charged with assault before being taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for further treatment.

The accused was then released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on April 12, 2022.
