SIU Investigating Serious Injury After Resident Tased In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES–The SIU is investigating the circumstances surrounding a reported serious injury suffered by a man following an interaction with a Kawartha Lakes Police Service officer at a residence on March 7.

According to the SIU, during the interaction, the officer discharged his conducted energy weapon at the man. The man was arrested and taken to the detachment. He was then taken to the hospital via ambulance where he was reported to have been diagnosed with a serious injury according to the SIU.

Officers had responded to the home, in the area of Verulam Road South and Hwy. 7, in relation to a domestic call.

Police Chief Mark Mitchell says one subject officer and one witness officer has been identified.
