Home Security Video Leads To Theft Charges For Ops Township Resident

KAWARTHA LAKES- On March 8, 2022 at 7:48am Kawartha Lakes Police received a theft complaint from a Lindsay Street South resident.

The complaint reported the alleged theft after reviewing home security video and observing an unknown male on his property at 3:00am. The male was observed checking vehicles and sheds, then left the property taking a garden trailer with him.  At 2:54pm on the same date, police received a call after a suspicious male unsuccessfully tried to enter a Riverview Road residence. Police located the male suspect who was allegedly found in possession of the garden trailer stolen earlier in the day.

31-year-old Blake Lanham of Ops Twp is charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on April 14, 2022.
