KAWARTHA LAKES-Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP arrested two drivers over the weekend, at two separate traffic investigations.
Shortly after 9:00 pm on February 19, 2022, officers conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on County Road 36 in Verulam Township. The ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver.
Michael McQuafe, 62 years-of-age, of Port Perry has been charged with, Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, vehicle impounded for seven days, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 17, 2022.
On February 20, 2022 at approximately 6:30 pm officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision at which no one was injured. Through the officer’s investigation a demand was given for a breath sample. Police say the driver refused to comply and as a result was arrested and charged.
Joel Reynolds, 63 years-of-age, of Janetville has been charged with, Failure or refusal to comply with demand.
The accused also had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, vehicle impounded for seven days, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on March 24, 2022.
