Ministry Of Natural Resources Seeking Help Finding A Poacher South Of Bancroft

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry (NDMNRF) is asking for the public’s help with identifying who illegally killed a deer in the Bancroft area and abandoned the meat allowing it to spoil.

The ministry says it determined a deer was shot and killed in the area of Bay Lake Road, south of the town of Bancroft sometime between January 4th and January 6th, 2022. The deer was killed with a rifle. The poacher dragged the dead animal to the middle of Bay Lake, where the deer was left whole with the hide removed from its left side according to officials.

If you have any information that will assist Conservation officers in their investigation, please call the ministry TIPS line toll free at 1-877-847-7667 or contact your local ministry office. You can also call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
