Home On The Site Of Outdoor Music Festivals In Bobcaygeon Burned To The Ground Overnight

KAWARTHA LAKES-A home on the site of an outdoor music festival in the 90’s near Bobcaygeon burned to the ground overnight.

The call came in around 9 pm Saturday for a fire on Cosh’s Road. Deputy Chief Cameron Smith told Kawartha 411 the home had been abandoned and was a complete write-off. There’s no estimate of damages at this time.

Four fire stations and up to 25 staff responded to the call. Crews worked for hours in frigid weather to get the blaze under control. A portion of County Road 8 was blocked off due to icy conditions caused by the water.

The cause is still under investigation and no one was injured.

The event dubbed Bobstock was held in June 1995 featuring Alannah Myles, Kim Mitchell and the Downchild Blues Band.

Clarification: The home was the site of music festivals in the ’90s not the concert with The Tragically Hip in 2011.
