Man Charged After Allegedly Entering Police Station With A Knife To Report He Had Stabbed Someone

PETERBOROUGH–A 53-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Thursday morning.

Police say at approximately 7:00am on January 27, 2022, a man entered the police station in Peterborough carrying a knife and reporting that he had stabbed another man during a dispute.  Officers took the man into custody and allegedly located a second knife during the arrest.  Officers were sent to a residence and found the victim who was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment of their injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 53-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on January 27, 2022.
