Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued For Southern Kawartha Lakes And Peterborough

KAWARTHA LAKES-Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory for our area.

Weather advisory in effect for:

  • Lindsay – Southern Kawartha Lakes
  • Peterborough City – Lakefield – Southern Peterborough County

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for late this afternoon and this evening.

Snow, heavy at times. Total snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm expected by tonight.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour is possible now throughout this evening.
Reduced visibility due to snow and occasional blowing snow.

Southwesterly winds over Lake Ontario are expected to enhance snowfall rates, especially for areas closer to the lake shore.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
