KAWARTHA LAKES-A 30-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges in connection with an incident at the home of the Medical Officer of Health for Peterborough Public Health.
Police say at approximately 7:00pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, officers were called to the home in East City about a group of protestors. As a result of an investigation, an arrest warrant for a person involved was requested by Peterborough Police and granted.
Just before 10:00am on Thursday, January 20, 2022, officers arrested a 30-year-old Peterborough man on the warrant.
The accused was charged with:
- Criminal Harassment
- Intimidation of a Health Official
The accused was also served with a court summons on two charges of mischief in connection with an unsanctioned parade on December 11, 2021.
The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on February 17, 2022.
“Peterborough Police takes these incidents seriously and, in this case, has laid a charge under the new Bill C-3 provisions of the Criminal Code.” said police in a press release.
