KAWARTHA LAKES-Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP arrested and charged a driver for impaired operation during a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check.
Just before 9:00 pm on January 19, 2022 officers stopped a vehicle at a RIDE initiative in Mariposa Township.
Edward Ashwood, 65 years-of-age, of Mariposa Township has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
The accused’s licence was also suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for 7 days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on February 10, 2022.
