Portable Heater Causes $60,000 Fire Near Fowlers Corners

KAWARTHA LAKES-City of Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at a home on Meadowview Road near Fowlers Corners on Monday night.

The call came in at 6:40 pm and Chief Terry Jones says the garage was fully involved on arrival with exposure damage to owners home and neighbours garage.

No one was injured.

Jones says the cause is expected electrical failure of a portable heater.

Damage is estimated to be $60,000.
