Two Additional COVID Outbreaks Declared In Seniors Homes In Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge (HKPR)District Health Unit has declared COVID-19 outbreaks at two local Long Term Care facilities.

Victoria Manor which is a municipally-owned facility in Lindsay and Caressant Care Retirement Home in Lindsay both have active outbreaks.

The health unit says there are 10 staff cases and no cases involving residents at Victoria Manor.

Caressant Care Retirement Home on Mary Street has 7 staff cases and 9 cases involving residents according to the health unit.

 

All staff and volunteers working in long term care are mandated to be fully vaccinated.

Since last Monday there’s been 504 new cases of COVID in the fully vaccinated in the HKPR Health Unit region,128 in the unvaccinated, 18 partially vaccinated and 4 not yet protected.
The latest COVID-19 death is a City of Kawartha Lakes resident in their 70s who had received two doses of vaccine.
