Police Investigating After Vehicle Stolen From Kent Street West Parking Lot

KAWARTHA LAKES-A local resident learned the hard way not to leave their vehicle running while popping into a store.

Police say on Wednesday January 5, 2022 at 8:34pm officers with the Kawartha Lakes Police Service were called to a Kent Street West address for a report of a stolen vehicle.

According to police the complainant was parked in a Kent Street West parking lot and briefly went into a business, leaving the vehicle running and unlocked. When they came out a short time later the vehicle was gone.

The vehicle is described as being a silver, 2009, Suzuki SX4, 4-door with Ontario License plate, “CLWY535.” The Kawartha Lakes Police Service is asking anyone who may have information about this incident to contact them at 705.324.5252.
