Two New COVID Outbreaks Declared In Kawartha Lakes

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit has declared two new COVID-19 outbreaks in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

An outbreak was declared at the Central East Correctional Centre in Lindsay on January 4th. According to the Ministry of the Solicitor General, there are 19 cases linked to this outbreak at Central East Correctional Centre.

An outbreak was also declared at Case Manor Long Term Care in Bobcaygeon on January 4th. The health unit says five cases are linked to this outbreak, one resident and four staff.

As of today there are 1073 fully vaccinated residents in hospital with COVID-19, 417 unvaccinated in hospital and 108 partially vaccinated. In terms of ICU there are 86 fully vaccinated cases in ICU, 14 partially vaccinated and 109 unvaccinated.
