COVID Outbreak Declared At Kawartha Lakes Retirement Residence In Bobcaygeon

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit has declared a COVID outbreak at Kawartha Lakes Retirement Residence in Bobcaygeon.

The outbreak was declared at the West Street home on January 3rd. It’s unclear how many cases are involved.

The facility previously had a COVID outbreak in May, 2020 before vaccines were available.

Currently, many of the residents have already had their boosters according to Sienna Living, the owners of the home. Staff had until October 12,2021 to be fully vaccinated or placed on a leave of absence.

The province is reporting 11,352 cases of COVID today with 9,040 in the fully vaccinated, 1,647 unvaccinated, 445 partially vaccinated and 219 unknown.
